Some of the people who have seen the preview have told me that the ‘art style’ is unique. ‘Different’ and ‘interesting’ are also some of the words been used. I admit, the style is a bit different and maybe ‘weird’ is the correct word for it.

I am no artist. I am a programmer making games so when it comes to creating art, I always hit a brick wall. The programmer’s art can only be sufficient for a quick prototype, beyond that you need something more substantial. So like everyone else, I was looking for some kind of inspiration to make the art of at least some decent standards. So I turned towards something I guess we have all liked at some stage or the other – desktop wallpapers. Especially the abstract wallpapers. I look around for such wallpapers and after some iterations managed to somehow fit it into the realm of my game. It is hard to put the explanation in words, so i will just leave some visual cues for you to understand. Below you will find some examples of wallpapers/abstract images which were used as the inspiration and what they eventually became in the game.

..and so on…

I believe this gives a broad picture into what went behind the scenes. I am still not good enough as a well qualified artist. But at least I am not completely lost either. And I will continue to look around me for inspiration whenever I have to be creative.

Thanks!
